In this paper we demonstrate the performance of a Beamformer-Rake [I] receiver at the uplink of a Widehand Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) [2], [3] system. The receiver employs Maximum Signal to Interference and Noise Ratio (MSINR) [4] criterion to form its beams in the spatial domain. We propose a new iterative algorithm to solve the Generalized Eigenvalue problem (GE) resulting from the MSINR beamforming criterion.
