We present an iterative method for solving the system arisen from finite element discretization of a distributed optimal control problem with time-periodic parabolic equations. We prove that the method is unconditionally convergent. Numerical results are presented to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method.

The new BPS preconditioner is based on two positive-semidefinite splittings of the generalized saddle point matrix, resulting in an unconditional convergent fixed-point iteration method. Expand
Respectively scaled splitting iteration method for a class of block 4-by-4 linear systems from eddy current electromagnetic problems
In this paper, we present a respectively scaled splitting (RSS) iteration method for the block 4-by-4 linear system from eddy current electromagnetic problems. Unconditional convergence properties ofExpand

It is shown that an earlier used preconditioner for optimal control problems is applicable here also and leads to very tight eigenvalue bounds and hence very fast convergence such as for a Krylov subspace iterative solution method. Expand
A new version of a preconditioning method for certain two-by-two block matrices with square blocks
Two-by-two block matrices with square matrix blocks arise in many important applications. Since the problems are of large scale, iterative solution methods must be used. Thereby the choice of anExpand

Theoretical analyses show that the eigenvalues of the improved block-diagonal and block triangular preconditioned matrices are located in [ − 1, − 2 / 2 ] and ( 1 / 2 , 1 ] , respectively. Expand
A block alternating splitting iteration method for a class of block two-by-two complex linear systems
TLDR
This paper focuses on solving a class of block two-by-two complex linear systems arising from the distributed optimal control with time-periodic parabolic parabolic equations and a new block alternating splitting iteration method is presented for solving the class of complexlinear systems. Expand
