A new monotypic genus, Glassella, is recognized from the trop ical East Pacific for Pinnixa costaricana Wicksten, 1982. This genus shares with Alarconia Glassell, 1938, Indopinnixa Manning & Morton, 1987, Scler- oplax Rathbun, 1893 and Pinnixa White, 1846, a carapace wider than long, and third pair of walking legs the longest. Glassella is distinguished from other genera by: MXP3 with ischium-merus pyriform, carpus larger than the conical propodus, and small digitiform dactylus inserted sub…

Systematics of the genus Scleroplax Rathbun, 1893 (Crustacea: Brachyura: Pinnotheridae)
The taxonomic status of the monotypic genus Scleroplax Rathbun, 1893, is evaluated and separated from other genera of the Pinnixa White, 1846, complex. Distinguishing characters of Scleroplax are a

The Pinnotherid crabs Glassella costaricana (Wicksten, 1982) (from Costa Rica), Pinnixa richardsoni (Glassell, 1936) (from Panama) and P. scamit Martin & Zmarzly, 1994 (from California, U.S.A.) are

Three new symbiotic crabs of the genus Glassella Campos & Wicksten, 1997 from Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico coasts of Florida, USA (Decapoda: Brachyura: Pinnotheridae)
TLDR
Comparisons of G. floridana to the three new species of the pinnotherid crab genus Glassella reveal striking diagnostic differences between all four species in their male first gonopods and varied configurations in the gonopodal plate or its probable homologs.
Molecular evidence for non-monophyly of the pinnotheroid crabs (Crustacea : Brachyura : Pinnotheroidea), warranting taxonomic reappraisal
TLDR
The relationships within and among some taxa are resolved to greater or lesser extent and the phylogenetic biodiversity of pinnotherid crabs is revealed.
Molecular evidence for non-monophyly of the pinnotheroid crabs (Crustacea : Brachyura : Pinnotheroidea), warranting taxonomic reappraisal
TLDR
Molecular genetic markers were used to infer a phylogeny for the family Pinnotheridae De Haan, 1833 to reevaluate the phylogeny and systematics at the level of its subfamilies and genera and resolved the relationships within and among some taxa.
The Pinnotheridae of the northeastern Pacific (Alaska to Mexico): zoogeographical remarks and new bivalve hosts (Crustacea, Brachyura, Pinnotheridae).
TLDR
An updated checklist with remarks on zoogeography for the 60 pinnotherid species, included in 23 genera, of the northeastern Pacific region (Alaska to the Mexican tropical Pacific) is given.
Phylogeny of the genus Pinnixa White, 1846 (Crustacea, Brachyura, Pinnotheridae) and allies inferred from mitochondrial and nuclear molecular markers, with generic reassignment of twenty-one species
TLDR
A molecular-based phylogeny was used to study phylogenetic relationships between species of Pinnixa White, 1846 sensu lato and other closely related pinnotherids, and three new genera are erected to receive nine species.

TLDR
This report greatly increases the known number of fossil decapods from Chile and sets the stage for paleobiogeographic comparison of the decapod faunas of Chile and Argentina.
