Natural products are considered to be good sources for the screening of lead compounds of clinical drugs. We performed a large number of drug screenings by using a variety of assay systems with crude extracts of microbial cultures as a traditional natural product library. In some assay systems, our crude extract library could not work effectively. With this in mind, we started to construct a purified natural compound library possessing various skeletons from cultures of microorganisms. As…

Meroterpenoid natural products from Streptomyces bacteria - the evolution of chemoenzymatic syntheses.
TLDR
The application of genome mining techniques to marine Streptomyces bacteria led to the discovery of unique prenyltransferase and vanadium-dependent haloperoxidase enzymes that can be used as highly selective biocatalysts in fully enzymatic total syntheses, thus overcoming the limitations of purely chemical reagents.
Bacterial terpenome.
TLDR
The bacterial terpenome is relatively small, it presents a fascinating dichotomy for future research, and the abundance of novel skeletons, biosynthetic pathways, and bioactivies presents new opportunities for drug discovery, genome mining, and enzymology.

Construction of a natural product library containing secondary metabolites produced by actinomycetes
TLDR
The results suggested that marine sponges are a promising source of actinomycetes with the potential to produce new metabolites, and it has great potential as a source of compounds for drug screening.
Studies on the antibiotics from Streptomyces spinichromogenes var. kujimyceticus. V. Some antimicrobial characteristics of kujimycin A and kujimycin B against macrolide resistant staphylococci.
TLDR
Kujimycins A and B were found to be capable of inducing macrolide resistance as do EM and OM in inducible resistant strains.
Novel antibiotics, furaquinocins C, D, E, F, G and H.
TLDR
These antibiotics showed cytocidal activities against HeLa S3 and B16 melanoma cells in vitro and were determined on the basis of their spectroscopical and chemical properties to be furaquinocins C, D, E, F, G and H.
