We describe a new day gecko, Phelsuma roesleri sp. n. (Squamata: Gekkonidae) from Ankarana, a karstic limestone massif in northern Madagascar. The new species is characterized by a comparatively very small body size (snout–vent length about 33–36 mm, total length 69–72 mm) and by its colouration, and was found exclusively on Pandanus screw pines in the Tsingy karst formation outside the Ankarana nature reserve.
