Pilosella ilgazensis Vladimirov, Coskuncelebi & Kit Tan, a new diploid (2n = 2x = 18) species from Ilgaz Mountain National Park, North Anatolia, Turkey, is described and illustrated. It grows in subalpine grassland and open Juniperus sibirica Burgsd. communities. Pilosella ilgazensis is morphologically intermediate between P. alpicola s.l., from the high mountains of Central and Southeast Europe, and the Euro-Asiatic Pilosella echioides s.l. The relationship of the species with other similar…

Tragopogon turcicus sp. nov. (Asteraceae) from Turkey and its phylogenetic position
TLDR
A phylogenetic analysis based on nrDNA ITS sequence data indicated that T. oligolepis is the sister species of the new diploid species described and illustrated from Kizildag National Park, southwest Anatolia.
Contribution to chromosome numbers and phylogeny of Turkish Vincetoxicum Wolf (Apocynaceae, Asclepiadoideae)
We report chromosome counts for ten taxa of Vincetoxicum sensu stricto (s. str.) (Apocynaceae) from Turkey (of which two are endemic), including the first chromosome counts for V. canescens subsp.

A new treatment of Pilosella for the Euro-Mediterranean flora
TLDR
Pilosella is proposed as a genus distinct from Hieracium, a framework of twenty accepted “basic” species (some with subspecies) or species aggregates that comprises one recognised species, or sometimes more than one when the offspring of a particular subspecies or microspecies combination deserves recognition.
Taxonomic and Nomenclatural Notes on Pilosella Alpicola Agg. (Asteraceae) in the Balkans and Carpathians
Following the commonly accepted generic concept, the Carpathian endemic Hieracium ullepitschii Blocki and the Balkan endemic H. rhodopeum Griseb. are transferred to the genus Pilosella as P.
Med-Checklist: a critical inventory of vascular plants of the circum-Mediterranean countries. 3. Dicotyledones (Convolvulaceae-Labiatae).
TLDR
The Checklist is a comprehensive synonymic catalogue of all species and subspecies of the Compositae in the Mediterranean area, providing a correct nomenclature under current taxonomic standards and gives territory-by-territory distribution for all listed taxa up to the aggregate level.
Asteraceae: Cladistics and Classification
Using the technique of cladistics, the author and his collaborators have been able to reconstruct the phylogeny within the Asteraceae (Compositae) family.

Gomori's hematoxylin as a chromosome stain.
TLDR
The chromic hematoxylin of Gomori (1941) can be used as an excellent chromosome stain after hydrolysis of the tissue in warm 1–N hydrochloric acid, which is nonfading, and insoluble in water and other common reagents.
