We report a compact high-power continuous-wave green laser for a scanning laser projector using one-dimensional diffractive spatial modulators (GxL modulators). The green laser oscillates in one-dimensional multi-transversal modes and generates a beam in a line from a periodically-poled stoichiometric lithium tantalate (PPSLT) crystal inside the laser cavity. The line beam enables diffraction-limited focusing in one direction and can be easily transformed into a top-hat beam because of the low… Expand
A compact continuous-wave green laser with line beam for laser projection
Abstract An efficient and compact continuous-wave green laser with line beam using LBO crystal was developed. The maximum output power was 6.5 W. The optical-to-optical conversion efficiency was asExpand
Fibre Laser Array for Power Scaling of a Line-Beam Source
In this thesis, a line-like laser beam profile is generated by parallel stacking of several fibre lasers, which provides a convenient way to scale the total output power of the line source. It isExpand
High energy quasi-phase matched optical parametric oscillation using Mg-doped congruent LiTaO(3) crystal.
We report on high energy optical parametric oscillation of 118 mJ output with ~70% slope efficiency in 10 ns duration of 30 Hz operation by using Mg-doped congruent composition LiTaO(3) (MgLT). TheExpand
High‐pixel‐rate grating‐light‐valve laser projector
— A high-pixel-rate, high-contrast (30,000:1) wide-color-gamut grating-light-valve laser projector is reported. A new optical engine enabling high-frame-rate (240 Hz) scan projection is employed.Expand
56.1: High‐Frame‐Rate, High‐Contrast Grating Light Valve Laser Projection Display
We report a high frame rate (240Hz), high contrast (30,000:1), wide color gamut GxL (G-by-L) laser projector. Proposed application areas for GxL are also discussed.

Invited Paper: Blazed GxLP™ light modulators for laser projectors
— A GxL device is a one-dimensional light modulator suitable for laser projectors. A blazed GxL, which diffracts the incident laser beam in only one direction was developed, and a contrast ratio ofExpand

A 0.3 W operation for a single emitter broad area red laser at 45degC was achieved, for the first time, and a highly reliable 25 emitter array operation of 6.6 W at 25degC. The laser array isExpand
High power continuous-wave green light generation by quasiphase matching in Mg stoichiometric lithium tantalate
Single-pass second-harmonic generation of 7W continuous wave of 542nm radiation with 35.4% efficiency was achieved by quasiphase matching in periodically poled Mg-doped stoichiometric lithiumExpand
High power pure-blue semiconductor lasers
We developed high-power and long-lived AlGaInN-based pure-blue semiconductor lasers emitting in the 440-450 nm wavelength range. The half lifetime (the time for the output power to degrade to halfExpand
