After performing a thorough comparison of different quantization schemes in the RGB, HSV, YUV, and CIEL*u*v* color spaces, we propose to use color features obtained by hierarchical color clustering based on a pruned octree data structure to achieve efficient and robust image retrieval. With the proposed method, multiple color features, including the dominant color, the number of distinctive colors, and the color histogram, can be naturally integrated into one framework. A selective filtering… Expand

Color-based image retrieval using spatial-chromatic histograms
TLDR
A new indexing methodology for image databases integrating color and spatial information for content-based image retrieval, called Spatial-Chromatic Histogram (SCH), can be more satisfactory than standard techniques when the user would like to retrieve from the database the images that actually resemble the query image selected in their color distribution characteristics. Improving image retrieval efficiency using a fuzzy inference model and genetic algorithm
The typical approaches for content based image retrieval extract signatures such as color, shape, and texture from each image and map the features into a d-dimensional metric space. According to theExpand
