A new luteoyl derivative, 1-O-galloyl-6-O-luteoyl-β-D-glucopyranoside, together with five known compounds were isolated from the methanol leaf extract of Alchornea cordifolia. The chemical structures of these compounds were confirmed by 1D and 2D NMR and HRMS analyses. The compounds exhibited significant antioxidant activity with IC50 values in the range of 1.56 to 3.11 μg/ml.
