The quasi-periodic oscillations (QPOs) in black hole (BH) systems with different scales are interpreted based on the magnetic reconnection of large-scale magnetic fields generated by toroidal electric currents flowing in the inner region of the accretion disk, where the current density is assumed to be proportional to the mass density of the accreting plasma. The magnetic connection (MC) is taken into account in resolving dynamic equations describing the accretion disk, in which the MC between…

Energy Extraction from a Black Hole and Its Influence on X-Ray Spectra
Taking into account the energy and angular momentum transferred from a rotating black hole (BH) to the inner accretion disk by the magnetic connection (MC) process, we simulate the x-ray spectra from
Simple Analytic Formula Relating the Mass and Spin of Accreting Compact Objects to Their Rapid X-Ray Variability
Following the previous research on epicyclic oscillations of accretion disks around black holes (BHs) and neutron stars (NSs), a new model of high-frequency quasiperiodic oscillations (QPOs) has been
A model for 3:2 HFQPO pairs in black hole binaries based on cosmic battery
A model for 3:2 high-frequency quasi-periodic oscillations (HFQPOs) with 3:2 pairs observed in four black hole X-ray binaries (BHXBs) is proposed by invoking the epicyclic resonances with the
Time-scale of twin-peak quasi-periodic oscillations and mass of accreting neutron stars
Einstein’s general relativity predicts that orbital motion of accreted gas approaching a neutron star (NS) in a NS low-mass X-ray binary (LMXB) system occurs on a time-scale proportional to the NS
Spontaneous magnetic reconnection
The present review concerns the relevance of collisionless reconnection in the astrophysical context. Emphasis is put on recent developments in theory obtained from collisionless numerical
Multi-waveband quasi-periodic oscillations in the light curves of blazar CTA 102 during its 2016–2017 optical outburst
Quasi-periodic fluctuations in the light curves of blazars can provide insight into the underlying emission process. This type of flux modulation hints at periodic physical processes that result in

A model of magnetically induced disc–corona for black hole binaries
We propose a model of magnetic connection (MC) of a black hole with its surrounding accretion disc based on large-scale magnetic field. The MC gives rise to transport of energy and angular momentum
Magnetic connection and current distribution in black hole accretion discs
We discuss one of the possible origins of large-scale magnetic fields based on a continuous distribution of toroidal electric current flowing in the inner region of the disc around a Kerr black hole
A Simple Model for a Magnetic Reconnection-heated Corona
We construct a simple model for a magnetic reconnection-heated corona above a thin accretion disk in active galactic nuclei (AGNs) and Galactic black hole candidates (GBHCs). The basic assumptions
Effects of magnetic coupling on radiation from accretion disc around a Kerr black hole
ABSTRACT The effects of magnetic coupling (MC) process on the inner edge of the disc are dis-cussed in detail. It is shown that the inner edge can deviate from the innermost stablecircular orbit
Evolution characteristics of the central black hole of a magnetized accretion disc
Evolution characteristics of a Kerr black hole (BH) are investigated by considering the coexistence of disc accretion with the Blandford-Znajek process (the BZ process) and magnetic coupling of the
Relations between Black Hole Spin and Angular Velocity of Accreting Particles near the Horizon
Evolution characters of angular velocity ΩH of a Kerr black hole (BH) and distribution characters of angular velocity Ωp of accreting particles near the BH horizon are investigated in the case of
Toy model for the magnetic connection between a black hole and a disk
A magnetic field connecting a Kerr black hole to a disk rotating around it can extract energy and angular momentum from the black hole and transfer them to the disk if the black hole rotates faster
Accretion Disk Torqued by a Black Hole
If a Kerr black hole is connected to a disk rotating around it by a magnetic field, the rotational energy of the Kerr black hole provides an energy source for the radiation of the disk in addition to
A resonance model with magnetic connection for 3:2 HFQPO pairs in black hole binaries
We apply epicyclic resonances to the magnetic connection (MC) of a black hole (BH) with a relativistic accretion disc, interpreting the high frequ ency quasi-periodic oscillations (HFQPOs) with 3:2
The Spin of the Near-Extreme Kerr Black Hole GRS 1915+105
Based on a spectral analysis of the X-ray continuum that employs a fully relativistic accretion disk model, we conclude that the compact primary of the binary X-ray source GRS 1915+105 is a rapidly
