A bstractIt is well known that there are different global (i.e. MP → ∞) limits of N = 1 supergravity. We distinguish between these limits and their relevance to low energy phenomenology. We discuss a) fermion mass matrices and recently proved theorems in global SUSY b) stability issues and SUSY breaking d) R-symmetry and a recently derived bound on the superpotential and e) FI terms in global and local SUSY.
Supersymmetry breaking and inflation from higher curvature supergravity
A bstractThe generic embedding of the R + R2 higher curvature theory into old-minimal supergravity leads to models with rich vacuum structure in addition to its well-known inflationary properties.

A bound on the superpotential
We prove a general bound on the superpotential in theories with broken supersymmetry and broken R-symmetry, |〈W〉| < $$ \frac{1}{2} $$faF, where fa and F are the R-axion and Goldstino decay constants,
Notes on SUSY and R-symmetry breaking in Wess-Zumino models
We study aspects of Wess-Zumino models related to SUSY and R-symmetry breaking at tree-level. We present a recipe for constructing a wide class of tree-level SUSY and R-breaking models. We also
Locally stable non-supersymmetric Minkowski vacua in supergravity
We perform a general study about the existence of non-supersymmetric minima with vanishing cosmological constant in supergravity models involving only chiral superfields. We study the conditions
Modifying the sum over topological sectors and constraints on supergravity
The standard lore about the sum over topological sectors in quantum field theory is that locality and cluster decomposition uniquely determine the sum over such sectors, thus leading to the usual

Supersymmetry Breaking and Gauge Mediation
We review recent works on supersymmetry breaking and gauge mediation. We survey our current understanding of dynamical supersymmetry-breaking mechanisms and describe new model-building tools that use
Comments on supercurrent multiplets, supersymmetric field theories and supergravity
We analyze various supersymmetry multiplets containing the supercurrent and the energy-momentum tensor. The most widely known such multiplet, the Ferrara-Zumino (FZ) multiplet, is not always
Sums over Topological Sectors and Quantization of Fayet-Iliopoulos Parameters
In this paper we discuss quantization of the Fayet-Iliopoulos parameter in supergravity theories with altered nonperturbative sectors, which were recently used to argue a fractional quantization
Supersymmetry and Supergravity
The first edition of this book appeared in 1983 and was based on a series of lectures given at Princeton in 1983 by Julius Wess. Since the appearance of the first edition much work has been done on
