ITU-R BT.1361 and IEC 61966-2-4(xvYCC) are two standards for video systems with extended-gamut YCC color space. IEC 61966-2-4 put forward that the available quantization levels can be extended to [1, 254] in 8-bit quantization. This paper calculated the value range of luma and chroma signals corresponding to this available quantization range with the colorbar signal which has been widely used in TV system, and put forward a nonlinear (piecewise linear) quantization method for chroma signals to…

A top down description of S-CIELAB and CIEDE2000
An overview of spatial filtering combined with CIEDE2000, to assist TC8-02 in the evaluation and implementation of an image color difference metric, based on the S-CIELAB spatial extension is presented.
The CIEDE2000 color-difference formula: Implementation notes, supplementary test data, and mathematical observations
This article indicates several potential implementation errors that are not uncovered in tests performed using the original sample data published with the recently developed CIEDE2000 color-difference formula.

The Gamut of Real Surface Colours
A maximum gamut for real surface colours has been derived from the analysis of the colour coordinates of 4089 samples. The gamut has been derived in both the CIE 1976 L* u* v* colour space and the
