This paper presents a theoretical study of a highly sensitive photonic crystal fibre (PCF) surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor. The proposed sensor consists of a gold-silver bimetallic structure as a transducing layer in the micro-fluidic slots which ensures optimum spectral sensitivity, low losses and narrow spectral width.
