Abstract A position sensitive l-dimensional X-ray detector with high dynamic range (4500:1) for a high photon flux with fast image recording sequence (in principle up to 1 MHz) has been developed for medical applications. A detective quantum efficiency (DQE) of at least 30% and a position resolution of 430 μm (FWHM) could be achieved for 33 keV photons.
