In this paper, a phased array antenna is designed at millimeter-wave frequency bands for future 5G based smartphone applications. The proposed antenna is a novel open slot-PIFA antenna made on a low cost FR4 board. The antenna array covers a frequency range of 26–32 GHz with a bandwidth of 6 GHz.
