EnglishAt the end of the tweentieth century and first decade of the new millennium, some collections and titles inserted in the literatury trend known as "chick lit" appeared in Portugal, addressed, in particular, to teenagers. In this article, we intend to examine how these narratives, in some aspects similar to fairy tales, contribute to instill into their readers patriarchal values and to mold female attitudes towards the self, men and marriage.
