Abstract We study a deformation of a 2-graded Poisson algebra where the functions of the phase space variables are complemented by linear functions of parity odd velocities. The deformation is carried by a 2-form B-field and a bivector Π, that we consider as gauge fields of the geometric and non-geometric fluxes H, f, Q and R arising in the context of string theory compactification. The technique used to deform the Poisson brackets is widely known for the point particle interacting with a U(1…

Deformed graded Poisson structures, generalized geometry and supergravity

In recent years, a close connection between supergravity, string effective actions and generalized geometry has been discovered that typically involves a doubling of geometric structures. We

Unified picture of non-geometric fluxes and T-duality in double field theory via graded symplectic manifolds

A bstractWe give a systematic derivation of the local expressions of the NS H-flux, geometric F- as well as non-geometric Q- and R-fluxes in terms of bivector β- and two-form B-potentials including

Dual gravity with $R$ flux from graded Poisson algebra

We suggest a new action for a ``dual'' gravity in a stringy $R$, $Q$ flux background. The construction is based on degree-$2$ graded symplectic geometry with a homological vector field. The structure

A bi-invariant Einstein-Hilbert action for the non-geometric string

String theory and noncommutative geometry

We extend earlier ideas about the appearance of noncommutative geometry in string theory with a nonzero B-field. We identify a limit in which the entire string dynamics is described by a minimally

Current algebras and differential geometry

We show that symmetries and gauge symmetries of a large class of 2-dimensional σ-models are described by a new type of a current algebra. The currents are labeled by pairs of a vector field and a

β-supergravity: a ten-dimensional theory with non-geometric fluxes, and its geometric framework

A bstractWe present a ten-dimensional theory, named β-supergravity, that contains non-geometric fluxes and could uplift some four-dimensional gauged supergravities. Building on earlier work, we study

T-duality, generalized geometry and non-geometric backgrounds

We discuss the action of O(d,d), and in particular T-duality, in the context of generalized geometry, focusing on the description of so-called non-geometric backgrounds. We derive local expressions

T-Duality: Topology Change from H-Flux

T-duality acts on circle bundles by exchanging the first Chern class with the fiberwise integral of the H-flux, as we motivate using E8 and also using S-duality. We present known and new examples
