A bstractWe present an asymptotically flat, spherically symmetric, static, globally regular and horizonless solution of SU(2)-gauged N=1$$ \mathcal{N}=1 $$, d = 5 supergravity. The SU(2) gauge field is that of the BPST instanton. We argue that this solution, analogous to the global monopoles found in d = 4 N=2$$ \mathcal{N}=2 $$ and N=4$$ \mathcal{N}=4 $$ gauged supergravities, describes the field of a single string-theory object which does not contribute to the entropy of black holes when we…

Dyonic black holes at arbitrary locations

A bstractWe construct and study stationary, asymptotically flat multicenter solutions describing regular black holes with non-Abelian hair (colored magnetic-monopole and dyon fields) in two models of

α′-corrected black holes in String Theory

A bstractWe consider the well-known solution of the Heterotic Superstring effective action to zeroth order in α′ that describes the intersection of a fundamental string with momentum and a solitonic

Supersymmetric solutions of the cosmological, gauged, C magic model pdfkeywords=Yang-Mills, gravity, Einstein-Yang-Mills, black hole, monopole, hair, supergravity, supersymmetry, gauging

We construct supersymmetric solutions of theories of gaugedN = 1, d = 5 supergravity coupled to vector multiplets with a U(1)R Abelian (FayetIliopoulos) gauging and an independent SU(2) gauging

Non-perturbative decay of non-Abelian hair

A bstractWe construct a solution of Heterotic supergravity which interpolates between two different AdS3 × S3 × T4 geometries corresponding to the near-horizon limits of two 5-dimensional black

Beyond the near-horizon limit: stringy corrections to heterotic black holes

A bstractWe study the first-order in α′ corrections to 4-charge black holes (with the Reissner-Nordström black hole as a particular example) beyond the near-horizon limit in the Heterotic Superstring

Non-Abelian rotating black holes in 4- and 5-dimensional gauged supergravity

Abstract We present new supersymmetric black-hole solutions of the 4- and 5-dimensional gauged supergravity theories that one obtains by dimensional reduction on T 5 and T 6 of Heterotic

Euclidean Wormholes, Baby Universes, and Their Impact on Particle Physics and Cosmology

The euclidean path integral remains, in spite of its familiar problems, an important approach to quantum gravity. One of its most striking and obscure features is the appearance of gravitational

One thousand and one bubbles

A bstractWe propose a novel strategy that permits the construction of completely general five-dimensional microstate geometries on a Gibbons-Hawking space. Our scheme is based on two steps. First, we

Smarr’s formula in 11-dimensional supergravity

We examine the Smarr formula in 11-dimensional spacetime compactified on a general six-dimensional, Ricci-flat manifold. We show that non-zero mass for smooth and horizonless solutions can only be

Non-Abelian, supersymmetric black holes and strings in 5 dimensions

A bstractWe construct and study the first supersymmetric black-hole and black-string solutions of non-Abelian-gauged N=1$$ \mathcal{N}=1 $$, d = 5 supergravity (N=1$$ \mathcal{N}=1 $$, d = 5

N=2 Einstein-Yang-Mills's BPS solutions

We find the general form of all the supersymmetric configurations and solutions of N = 2,d = 4 Einstein-Yang-Mills theories. In the timelike case, which we study in great detail, giving many

Non-Abelian bubbles in microstate geometries

A bstractWe find the first smooth bubbling microstate geometries with non-Abelian fields. The solutions constitute an extension of the BPS three-charge smooth microstates. These consist in general

Black-hole entropy from supergravity superstrata states

A bstractThere are, by now, several arguments that superstrata, which represent D1-D5-P bound states that depend upon arbitrary functions of two variables and that preserve four supersymmetries,

Exact solutions for supersymmetric stationary black hole composites

A bstractFour dimensional $ \mathcal{N} = {2} $ supergravity has regular, stationary, asymptotically flat BPS solutions with intrinsic angular momentum, describing bound states of separate extremal

Supersymmetric N = 2 Einstein-Yang-Mills Monopoles and Covariant Attractors

We present two generic classes of supersymmetric solutions of N = 2, d = 4 supergravity coupled to non-Abelian vector supermultiplets with a gauge group that includes an SU(2) factor. The first class

All the supersymmetric solutions of N = 1, d = 5 ungauged supergravity

We classify the supersymmetric solutions of ungauged N = 1 d = 5 SUGRA coupled to vector multiplets and hypermultiplets. All the solutions can be seen as deformations of solutions with frozen
