Prostate cancer has become a major public health problem worldwide. In both highand low-risk populations, rates are increasing; clearly some of the increase is related to the widespread use of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) testing in developed countries. Among US men, it is the most commonly diagnosed non-skin cancer and the second most common cause of cancer deaths.
