Histone acetyltransferases (HATs) are an important class of epigenetic enzymes involved in chromatin restructuring and transcriptional regulation. We describe in this paper a novel approach for the identification and characterization of HAT inhibitors using both fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) and fluorescence polarization.
