A dual-band reconfigurable FSS composite structure based on MEMS switches

Abstract

A dual-band Reconfigurable frequency selective surface composite structure based on MEMS Switch is proposed, which includes eight MEMS switches in one period. The use of the FSS element with the rectangular loop shape is benefit for the realization of dual-band reconfiguration. The FSS composite structure consists of the multilayer substrates and foams, which results in the good electrical performance with the broadband, the dual-band reconfiguration, the stable resonant frequency at the different incident angles and polarizations. Experimental results show that at 0° ∼45° incident angle range, Inner envelope relative bandwidth reaches 10% (Transmission efficiency >85% and both polarization)
