This work proposes a new Evolvable Hardware (EHW) system able to exploit two-dimensional dynamic reconfigurability and direct bitstream manipulation. These features enhance performance by enabling the parallelism between the evaluation and the reconfiguration phase and by speeding-up the reconfiguration process.
