We describe a prototype entertainment application of the augmented-reality toolkit based on a fantasy dice game. Two players roll dice bearing glyphs that are interpreted by a computer, which provides graphical and auditory feedback. Our prototype uses entirely consumer-grade equipment: a USB Webcam, a projector, and a 2 GHz desktop with 5.1 surround speakers. Unlike many AR-Toolkit applications, our players are not encumbered by head-mounted displays. Face-to-face gameplay, integrated with the…

"Third-Person" Augmented Reality-Based Interactive Chinese Drama
TLDR
This paper introduces a new form of augmented reality from a third person perspective which combines virtual elements with traditional elements in a live drama performance on stage and gives performers more freedom to express themselves and convey their artistic expressions to the audience for a more immersive experience.
A survey of visual, mixed, and augmented reality gaming
TLDR
A survey of visual mixed and augmented reality gaming in both the academic and commercial contexts is provided and a set of example commercial games are examined to provide the context for the state of the games on the market.
On the Use of Augmented Reality Technology for Creating Interactive Computer Games
TLDR
This paper designs interactive games systems that adopt augmented reality (AR) technology and develops real-time visual tracking techniques based on edge detection and makes 3D virtual objects display on defined markers that are within the source images in the field of view (FOV) of the webcam.
Multiplayer RC-Car Driving System in a Collaborative Augmented Reality Environment
TLDR
A prototype system for multiplayer RC-car driving in a collaborative Augmented Reality (AR) environment, enabling players to experience an augmented coexistence of the digital content and the real world.
Mixed Reality on a Virtual Globe
TLDR
Augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR) are being used in urban leader tactical response, awareness and visualization applications, and fixed-position surveillance cameras, mobile cameras, and other image sensors are widely used in security monitoring and command and control for special operations.

The motivation of this research is to mix together virtual reality techniques and computer human interaction techniques to have the best of both worlds.
Collaborative gaming in augmented reality
TLDR
An augmented reality setup for multiple users with see-trough head-mounted displays, allowing dedicated stereoscopic views and individualized interaction for each user, and a layering concept allowing individual views onto the common data structure is introduced.
