The potential of iron molybdates as catalysts in the Formox process stimulates research on aggregated but molecular iron-molybdenum oxo compounds. In this context, [(Me3TACN)Fe](OTf)2 was reacted with (nBu4N)2[MoO4], which led to an oxo cluster, [[(Me3TACN)Fe][μ-(MoO4-κ(3)O,O',O″)]]4 (1, Fe4Mo4) with a distorted cubic structure, where the corners are occupied by (Me3TACN)Fe(2+) and [Mo═O](4+) units in an alternating fashion, being bridged by oxido ligands. The cyclic voltammogram revealed four… Expand

Abstract The reaction between Ph 3 BiBr 2 and wet [NBu 4 ] 2 [MoO 4 ] leads to a white solid that according to Klemperer and Liu analyses as [NBu 4 ] 2 [BiPh 3 (MoO 4 ) 2 ] · 3H 2 O ( 1 aq ). WorkingExpand
Reactions of a {Mo16}-type polyoxometalate cluster with electrophiles: a synthetic, theoretical and magnetic investigation.
The medium-nuclearity mixed-valence polyoxomolybdate synthesized using an approach that employed protonated hexamethylenetetramine as counter ion yielded (HMTAH)10 1a, which exhibits significant nucleophilicity and traps electrophiles such as divalent transition metal ions. Expand
Solid-state coordination chemistry: influences of (M(terpyridyl))(M = Fe(III), Cu(II), Ni(II)) subunits on molybdenum oxide structures.
The secondary metal sites M(II, III) are effective bridging groups between molybdate subunits of varying degrees of aggregation and passivate the bimetallic oxide from spatial extension in two or three dimensions and provide a routine entree into low-dimensional structural types of the molyBdenum oxide family of materials.
