A component-based design and implementation for parallel Kriging library

Abstract

Component-based software engineering is increasingly becoming the main development approach for scientific applications to enable component interoperability. In this paper, we present an efficient component-based design for the parallel Kriging interpolation library and the library was implemented by mainly using Microsoft Active Template Library. This design would allow extensive reuse of the algorithm and hide the complexity of parallel programming, so that the end user may completely ignore the underlying architecture and concentrate on physics development. Experiment was carried out on three multi-core Windows workstations and its result demonstrates desirable performance.
