  • Abstract This paper compares the practical considerations in implementing different techniques for calibrating doubly constrained gravity type models with an exponential cost function. The comparisons are carried out under the headings of speed, accuracy, computer storage required and ease of implementation. Three techniques, due to Hyman, Evans and Hathaway, respectively, are initially considered.
