A class of non-supersymmetric orientifolds

We study type IIB orientifolds on T2d/N with supersymmetry broken by the compactification. We determine tadpole cancellation conditions including antibranes and considering different actions for the parity Ω. Using these conditions we then obtain the spectrum of tachyons and massless states. Various examples with N even correspond to type 0B orientifolds.

Instanton induced open string superpotentials and branes at singularities
- Physics, Mathematics

We study different aspects of the non-perturbative superpotentials induced by Euclidean E3-branes on systems of D3/D7-branes located at Abelian orbifold singularities. We discuss in detail how the…
Topical NSAIDs for acute pain in adults.

Topical NSAIDs can provide good levels of pain relief, without the systemic adverse events associated with oral NSAIDs, when used to treat acute musculoskeletal conditions.

Open Strings and Supersymmetry Breaking

We review several mechanisms for supersymmetry breaking in orientifold models. In particular, we focus on non‐supersymmetric open‐string realisations that correspond to consistent flat‐space…

We present an elementary introduction to compactifications with unbroken supersymmetry. After explaining how this requirement leads to internal spaces of special holonomy we describe Calabi-Yau…
