We present high-contrast observations of the circumstellar environment of the Herbig Ae/Be star HD 100546. The final 3.8 μm image reveals an emission source at a projected separation of 0. 48 ± 0. 04 (corresponding to ∼47 ± 4 AU) at a position angle of 8. 9 ± 0. ◦ 9. The emission appears slightly extended with a point source component with an apparent magnitude of 13.2 ± 0.4 mag. The position of the source coincides with a local deficit in polarization fraction in near-infrared polarimetric… Expand

High-Contrast study of the candidate planets and protoplanetary disk around HD~100546
The nearby Herbig Be star HD100546 is known to be a laboratory for the study of protoplanets and their relation with the circumstellar disk that is carved by at least 2 gaps. We observed the HD100546Expand
NIR Spectroscopy of the HAeBe Star HD 100546: III. Further Evidence of an Orbiting Companion?
• Physics

We report high resolution NIR spectroscopy of CO and OH emission from the Herbig Be star HD100546. We discuss how our results bear striking resemblance to several theoretically predicted signposts ofExpand
Blobs, spiral arms, and a possible planet around HD 169142
Context. Young planets are expected to cause cavities, spirals, and kinematic perturbations in protostellar disks that may be used to infer their presence. However, a clear detection of still-formingExpand
Radial decoupling of small and large dust grains in the transitional disk RX J1615.3-3255
We present H-band (1.6 mu m) scattered light observations of the transitional disk RX J1615.3-3255, located in the similar to 1 Myr old Lupus association. From a polarized intensity image, taken withExpand
A faint companion around CrA-9: protoplanet or obscured binary?
Understanding how giant planets form requires observational input from directly imaged protoplanets. We used VLT/NACO and VLT/SPHERE to search for companions in the transition disc of 2MASSExpand
Resolving the HD 100546 Protoplanetary System with the Gemini Planet Imager: Evidence for Multiple Forming, Accreting Planets
We report Gemini Planet Imager H band high-contrast imaging/integral field spectroscopy and polarimetry of the HD 100546, a 10 $Myr$-old early-type star recently confirmed to host a thermal infraredExpand
Observing brightness asymmetries in protoplanetary disks at solar system scale
• Physics
