A Test for the Physical Viability of Traversable Lorentzian Wormholes

Several static spherically symmetric traversable Lorentzian wormholes are now available in the literature. Are they all physically viable? We argue that the test of viability should be linked with the question of total amount of exotic matter needed to maintain the wormhole. It is possible to find a reasonable volume integral quantifier for this purpose… (More)
