A taxonomic revision of Duranta L. in Australia is presented. One naturalised species D. erecta (=D. repens and D. plumier) is recorded from Australia. Affinities and distribution are considered for the genus and the species. A detailed description of the species is supplemented by a habit sketch of a flowering branch, analytical drawings of the flower and range of variation in shape of leaves.
