Abstract The syntheses of α-D-glucopyranose-(1→3)-D-mannopyranose, methyl α-D-glucopyranose-(1→3)-α-D-mannopyranoside and methyl α-D-glucopyranose-(1→3)-α-D-mannopyranose-(1→2)-α-D-mannopyranoside are reported. High stereoselectivity was observed during the coupling of glucose and mannose residues by the use of glucosyl trichloroacetimidate as donor.
Synthesis of the tetrasaccharide α-d-Glcp-(1→3)-α-d-Manp-(1→2)-α-d-Manp-(1→2)-α-d-Manp recognized by Calreticulin/Calnexin
The title compound as its methyl glycoside was efficiently synthesized using a block synthesis approach. Halide-assisted glycosidations between 6-O-acetyl-2,3,4-tri-O-benzyl-α-d-glucopyranosyl iodiExpand
SYNTHESIS OF THE TETRASACCHARIDE Glc α (1→3) Man α (1→2) Man α (1→2) Man α (OMe) AS INHIBITOR OF CALNEXIN BINDING TO GlcMan 9GlcNAc 2 a
Tetrasaccharide GlcMan 3 is an inhibitor of GlcMan 9GlcNAc 2 binding to calnexin, a chaperone protein involved in CFTR-ΔF 508 retention. A convergent route to its methyl glycoside, the titleExpand
Synthesis of 2-azidoethyl α-D-mannopyranoside orthogonally protected and selective deprotections
We present the synthesis of a fully orthogonally protected mannosyl glycoside 1 and the corresponding methods for selective deprotections. Mannosyl glycoside 1 contains a functionalized linker at theExpand
Interactions of Substrate with Calreticulin, an Endoplasmic Reticulum Chaperone* 210
Calreticulin is a molecular chaperone found in the endoplasmic reticulum in eukaryotes, and its interaction with N-glycosylated polypeptides is mediated by the glycan Glc1Man7–9GlcNAc2present on theExpand
Dimethyltin Dichloride Catalyzed Regioselective Alkylation of cis-1,2-Diols at Room Temperature.
TLDR
The present method works well with both sugars and nonsugars and also provides comparatively better functional group compatibility. Expand
Synthesis of a molecular mimic of the Glc1Man9 oligoside as potential inhibitor of calnexin binding to DeltaF508 CFTR protein.
TLDR
In order to overcome retention of phenylalanine at position 508 of the CFTR protein, a molecular mimic of the glycoprotein oligoside moiety has been designed and synthesized and ability of this mimic to inhibit the binding of the natural Glc1Man9GlcNAc oligosides to calnexin has been measured. Expand
Man a (OMe) AS INHIBITOR OF CALNEXIN BINDING TO GlcMan9GlcNAc2
Tetrasaccharide GlcMan3 is an inhibitor of GlcMan9GlcNAc2 binding to calnexin, a chaperone protein involved in CFTR-DF 508 retention. A convergent route to its methyl glycoside, the titleExpand

TLDR
This chapter elaborates the primary structure and metabolism of the N -linked glycans, and presents the hypothesis that the catabolism of N -acetyl-lactosainine glycans starts by the action of endo-2-acetamido- 2-deoxy-β- D -glucosidases in liberating oligosaccharides that are then degraded by exoglycosidases.
