Information availability is a key factor in the acquisition of knowledge. Access to information either in the general area or even in more specific ones like sciences, languages, and religion become wider since the use of semantics in World Wide Web. Semantic Web technologies assist in the acquiring of information by creating processes that link information to another. However, the technology supports mostly languages using Latin family scripts. Arabic is still not well supported. This paper…

A Proposed Framework for Arabic Semantic Annotation Tool

TLDR
An overview of the existing Semantic Web concerning the Arabic Language in the domain of Ontology building is presented and a framework is proposed to develop a semantic annotation tool for supporting Arabic contents.

Developing Ontology for Arabic Blogs Retrieval

TLDR
This research proposes a model for representing Arabic knowledge in the Computer Technology domain using Ontologies, and starts by elicitation users’ informational needs.

Arabic Semantic Web Applications - A Survey

TLDR
The survey presented in this paper concerned with the SW applications regarding the Arabic Language in the domains of Ontology construction and utilization, Arabic WordNet (AWN) exploiting and enrichment, Arabic Named Entities Extraction, Holy Quran and Islamic Knowledge semantic representation, and Arabic Semantic Search Engines.

TLDR
This paper investigates the Semantic Web support for handling documents that are authored and/or annotated in Arabic, and how to bridge the gap between the SW and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to improve the intelligent exploration of unstructured documents in the Arabic domain.

Annotating Arabic Texts with Linked Data

TLDR
A linguistic approach for annotating Arabic textual corpus with Linked Data, especially DBpedia, which is Linked Open Data (LOD) extracted from Wikipedia, which uses natural language techniques to shedding light on Arabic text with Linking Open Data.

A Survey of Automated tools for translating Arab Chat Alphabet into Arabic Language

TLDR
The paper’s aim is to report on the survey of the different ACA translation tools and emphasizing the importance of theses tools in other applications like text mining, Information Retrieval and English Arabic translation.

Semantic boolean arabic information retrieval

Arabic language is one of the most widely spoken languages. This language has a complex morphological structure and is considered as one of the most prolific languages in terms of article linguistic.

Semantic Arabic Information Retrieval Framework

TLDR
There is a need for a semantic information retrieval model with a semantic index structure and ranking algorithm based on semantic index, which is performance insufficient with semantic queries.

A Comparison Between Ontology-Based and Translation-Based Semantic Search Engines for Arabic Blogs

TLDR
The goal of this research is to develop a domain-dependent semantic-based search engine for Arabic blogs named Mudawanati, a process devised to increase the precision of results by combining natural language processing with ontologies.

TLDR
This article proposes a framework to enhance the retrieval effectiveness of search engines to search for diacritical and diacritic-less Arabic text through query expansion techniques and found that query expansion for searching Arabic text is promising and it is likely that the efficiency can be further improved by advanced natural language processing tools.
