Plastic gears are generally used as plastic/plastic gear pairs in a gear train except when paired with an input gear connected to a motor. For the input gear, a metal gear is usually used to bear its severe condition while this surely causes the wear at the meshing plastic gear to be largest in the gear train. To overcome this, a polyacetal containing fatty acid(MM), which has reduced coefficient of friction against a metal, is considered as a gear material.
