The species of Timarcha are unique living fossils among the leaf beetles. They walk very slowly, cannot escape by flight, and their majestic bearing can be compared to the Athenian Judges, the Tlmarches. Unfortunately, they are vulnerable to habitat disturbance, insecticides, and environmental changes. Some of the European such as Timarcha tenebricosa and T. goettinqensis are becoming more and more rare because of these same habitat changes.
Timarcha latreille (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae, Chrysomelinae)
The leaf-beetle genus Timarcha Latreille comprises about four subgenera, 125 species and 30 subspecies, spread in eastern North America and around the Mediterranean basin. They are absent from Syria,

TLDR
The type of Tenebrio caerulesus is a Chrysomelidae currently belonging to genus Timarcha and therefore can no longer be considered a Tenebrionidae (Helops caeruleus) nor the type species of genus Helops.
