Among the "Neo-Sumerian" remains from Tello in the Istanbul Museum is the lower body of an inscribed statuette (fig. 1) which had been published in the Tello excavation reports and included in studies on Mesopotamian statuary or votive offerings, though its inscription has remained unknown.' During a visit to Istanbul I copied the cuneiform.
