found on owls of the genera Athene and Otus (Price and Beer, 1963, J. Kan. Entomob. Soc. 36: 58-64). In summation, only 60% (3/5) of the burrowing owls were infested and of a total of 25 lice, taken from these hosts, 17 (representing 8 S. speotyti and nine C. pectinatum) were recovered from one host, in town C. The results of this study indicated the presence of a greater variety of ectoparasites from town C than from the other two towns. This disparity could be attributed to the small sample…
Seminoma in a koi carp Cyprinus carpio: histopathological and immunohistochemical findings.
TLDR
A spontaneous seminoma in a 3 yr old male koi carp Cyprinus carpio L. is described, presenting a symmetric abdominal enlargement, that showed a celomatic multinodular, white-yellowish and firm mass that infiltrated the liver and the intestine wall and was characterized by a lobular architecture.
Testicular leiomyoma and spermatogenic failure syndrome in a seabass from broodstock.
TLDR
This is the first report of spermatogenic failure syndrome associated with a testicular leiomyoma in fish from broodstock, and more efforts should be made in studying broodstock fish pathologies related to fish maintenance and hormonal treatments that could economically affect aquaculture production.
Tumours and related lesions of the endocrine system of bony and cartilaginous fishes
The literature pertaining to the prevalence and histopathology of endocrine cell and tissue tumours and related lesions (TRL) in bony and cartilaginous fishes is catalogued and reviewed in the
Surgical Resection of a Testicular Seminoma in a Guinea Pig (Cavia porcellus)
TLDR
It is demonstrated that surgical resection, when used as the sole treatment modality, may provide substantial disease-free resolution of testicular seminomas in guinea pigs.
Mixed germ cell-stromal testicular neoplasia in a crucian carp (Carassius carassius L.): a case report.
TLDR
This report documents a case of spontaneously occurring gonadal neoplasm in a crucian carp caught in the wild and diagnosed as a mixed germ cell-stromal testicular neoplasia (gonadoblastoma).
Progression of Neoplasms Deriving from Muscle Tissues
TLDR
The basket cells of the salivary and breast glands are recognized and the cardiac musculature present in the heart and in the portions of the large vessels close to the heart is recognized.
Diagnostic cytology of fish.
TLDR
Cytology is an essential part of a diagnostic workup in cases of aquatic animal diseases and can lead to more effective treatment plans, ensuring a better prognostic outcome in patients.
Seminoma, Testis, Rat
A seminoma reported in a rat was described as a soft, tan mass 1 cm in diameter that replaced most of the testicle (Kim et al. 1985).
