The Milagro telescope monitors the northern sky for 100 GeV - 100 TeV transient emission through continuous very high energy wide-field observations. The large effective area and low energy threshold of Milagro allow it to detect very high energy gamma-ray burst emission with much higher sensitivity than previous instruments, and a fluence sensitivity at TeV energies comparable to dedicated gamma-ray burst satellites at keV-MeV energies. Observation of gamma-ray burst emission at TeV energies…
An advanced analysis technique for transient searches in wide-field gamma-ray observatories
Abstract Wide-field gamma-ray telescopes typically have highly variable event-by-event resolution which leads to a number of unique and challenging analysis requirements––particularly when conducting
Lectures on high-energy neutrino astronomy
Kilometer-scale neutrino detectors such as IceCube are discovery instruments covering nuclear and partile physics, cosmology and astronomy. Examples of their multidisciplinary mission include the

GeV-TeV gamma ray astrophysics workshop : towards a major atmospheric cherenkov detector VI, Snowbird, Utah 13-16 August 1999
The topic of this conference was GeV to TeV gamma-ray astrophysics. Existing GeV-TeV observatories are being improved, and new analytical techniques are being developed. New detection techniques are
Astronomy and Astrophysics for the 1980s
Astronomy is in a golden age. Discoveries since 1960 include quasars (1963), the cosmic microwave background radiation (1965), pulsars (1967), neutronstar binaries (1970), superluminal expansion of
The Astrophysical Journal Letters Variable UV Absorption in the Spectrum of MRC 2251–178 1
We present an ultraviolet spectrum of MRC 2251–178 taken with HST/STIS-G230L. The observation is part of a snap shot program of QSOs to systematically search for intrinsic absorption lines through
Gamma Ray Bursts in the Afterglow Era
In this review paper I will summarize some of the relevant results obtained with the Italian satellite BeppoSAX on the prompt and afterglow emission of Gamma Ray Bursts. I will also discuss the most
