Abstract : This report presents the overall results of a study of the application of rotating-diffuser centrifugal fans (RD fans) as air movers to peripheral-jet ground effect machines (GEMs). The design problems of the duct- RD fan system are discussed. It is proposed that the RD fan be used in the GEM without a conventional volute by using a radial-flow delivery technique.
