Geometry of proximal femur has been identified as risk factor for hip fractures. It is also suggested that proximal geometry can influence the fracture type. Neck shaft angle has been related to mechanical strength of proximal femur. Neck shaft angle shows considerable variation in human population with the mean values ranging from 122° ± 136° and in normal individuals are found from 110°150°. Geography, climate and race appears to have little effect on patterning the femoral neck shaft angle…
