-A SPICE compat ib le model o f High Intens i ty Discharge (HID) lamps was developed and ver i f i ed aga ins t exper imenta l resu l t s . The mode l i s based on fundamental phys ica l thermal pr inc ip l e s and app l i e s lamp parameters and universal c o n s t a n t s . The model was found to fa i thfu l ly emulate the stat ic and e lectr ical responses of a High Pressure Sodium lamp under low frequency (50Hz) and high frequency (30kHz) exci tat ion.
