Point features, as the basis of lines, surfaces, and bodies, are commonly used in medical image registration. To obtain an elegant spatial transformation of extracted feature points, many point set matching algorithms (PMs) have been developed to match two point sets by optimizing multifarious distance functions. There are ample reviews related to medical image registration and PMs which summarize their basic principles and main algorithms separately. However, to data, detailed summary of PMs…

A new vascular image registration method based on hybrid similarity measure is proposed in this paper, which combines image preprocessing and correlation ratio measure and shows that this method not only guarantees the accuracy of blood vessel image, but also registers quickly, which has a certain clinical value.
Optimization of virtual and real registration technology based on augmented reality in a surgical navigation system
BackgroundThe traditional navigation interface was intended only for two-dimensional observation by doctors; thus, this interface does not display the total spatial information for the lesion area.
2D-3D Registration With Weighted Local Mutual Information in Vascular Interventions
A novel similarity measure, WLMI (Weighted Local Mutual Information), is proposed to perform 2D-3D registration, which uses the patches selected in DSA to find the best match in the DRRs (digital radiography reconstruction) with weighted MI.
