We study a one-unit repairable system, supported by two identical spare units on cold standby, and serviced by two types of repairers. The model applies, for instance, to ANSI (American National Standard Institute) centrifugal pumps in a chemical plant. The failed unit undergoes repair either by an in-house repairer within a random or deterministic patience time, or else by a visiting expert repairer. The expert repairs one or all failed units before leaving, and does so faster but at a higher…

A System with Two Spare Units, Two Repair Facilities, and Two Types of Repairers

Assuming exponential lifetime and repair time distributions, we study the limiting availability A∞ as well as the per unit time-limiting profit ω of a one-unit system having two identical, cold

The present study pertains to developing a reliability model concerning a food industrial system that runs throughout the month except for Sundays. There are two types of repair persons engaged with

Oxygen reduction reaction on metal-doped nanotubes and nanocages for fuel cells

The ORR on surfaces of Ni-SiNT, Ni2-SiNT, Pt2-CNT, and Pt2-Si82 catalysts are investigated and compared with platinum metal catalysts. The structure–activity parameters for Ni-SiNT, Ni2-SiNT,

Investigation of Loss of Consciousness Induced by Gravity Acceleration on the Human Brain

3D model was employed to examine the effect of +Gz acceleration on the human brain and present damage threshold based on loss of consciousness in HIC and Maximum Brain Pressure criteria and revealed that the Maximum Brain pressure ≥ 3.1 KPa and HIC ≥ 30 are a representation of loss of Consciousness.

Possibility of Silicon Nanocages as Anode Electrodes in Metal-Ion Batteries: Computational Examination

Potential of silicon nanocages (Sin, n = 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48, 60, 70, 80 and 90) as anodes in batteries are examined. The thermal stability, ionization potentials, electron affinities,

Sensing of Acetaminophen Drug Using Silicon-Doped Graphdiyne: a DFT Inspection

Using first-principles calculations, we studied the electronic properties of graphdiyne (GDY) nanosheet and its Si-doped counterpart, SiGDY. Both GDY and SiGDY sheet surfaces were examined for

A Novel and Versatile Copper-Nanomagnetic Catalyst for Synthesis of Propargylamines and Diaryl Sulfides

In this paper, we shown that copper(II) complex supported on the surface of magnetic nanoparticles modified with 2-methoxy-1-phenylethan-1-imine (Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 -MPI-Cu(II) nanocatalyst) is an

A standby system with two types of repair persons

It is shown that a DPT is preferable to a random patience time, and conditions under which the expert should repair multiple failed units (rather than only one failed unit) during each visit are characterized.

Reliability and sensitivity analysis of a repairable system with warm standbys and R unreliable service stations

This paper deals with the reliability and sensitivity analysis of a repairable system with M operating units, S warm standby units, and R unreliable service stations. Failure times and service times

Stochastic analysis of a two-unit cold standby system with two-stage repair and waiting time

In this study we investigated the cost-benefit analysis of a two-unit cold standby system with two-stage repair of a failed unit. We discuss the concept of waiting time with two-stage repair for a

Probabilistic measures of redundant system with two types of repairmen, sensing device and analytical approach to find the optimium interchanging time
