The purpose of the study reported in this paper was to determine whether certain statistical procedures might aid persons interested in the relationships among organisms. The objectives of our study were to investigate numerous characters simultaneously in a considerable group of species; to quantify the relations shown among the species, using objective methods; and to indicate these relationships.
