The positions of Laurentia and other landmasses in the Precambrian supercontinent of Rodinia are controversial. Although geological and isotopic data support an East Antarctic fit with western Laurentia, alternative reconstructions favor the juxtaposition of Australia, Siberia, or South China. New geologic, age, and isotopic data provide a positive test of the juxtaposition with East Antarctica: Neodymium isotopes of Neoproterozoic rift-margin strata are similar; hafnium isotopes of ∼1.4…
Mesoproterozoic Tasmania: witness to the East Antarctica-Laurentia connection within Nuna
Most recent paleogeographic reconstructions of the supercontinent Nuna juxtapose the North Australian craton, Mawson continent (South Australia–East Antarctica), and Laurentia between 1.6 Ga and

ABSTRACT Antarctica has been known as the “keypiece” of the Gondwana supercontinent since publication of Du Toit's 1937 classic book Our Wandering Continents. It is also important to reconstruction
From Rodinia to Gondwana
The standard model for the origin of the Transantarctic Mountains postulates that during the Neoproterozoic Era a supercontinent existed called Rodinia which included what later became the East
Composition and age of the East Antarctic Shield in eastern Wilkes Land determined by proxy from Oligocene-Pleistocene glaciomarine sediment and Beacon Supergroup sandstones, Antarctica
The Precambrian East Antarctic Shield played a central role in the tectonic evolution of Rodinia and Gondwana, as well as growth of the East Antarctic Ice Sheet, yet little is known about its
Absence of evidence for Palaeoproterozoic eclogite-facies metamorphism in East Antarctica: no record of subduction orogenesis during Nuna development
TLDR
New zircon petrochronological data from relict eclogite preserved in the Nimrod Complex indicate that high-pressure metamorphism did not occur in the Palaeoproterozoic, but instead occurred during early Palaeozoic Ross orogenesis along the active convergent margin of East Gondwana.
Continuation of the Laurentian Grenville Province across the Ross Sea Margin of East Antarctica
Zircon U-Pb ages from glacial clasts in Quaternary tills of the central Transantarctic Mountains indicate the presence of Grenville-age crust along the Ross Sea margin of East Antarctica. The

Laurentia, australia, and antarctica as a late proterozoic supercontinent: constraints from isotopic mapping
The reconstruction of Laurentia, Australia, and Antarctica into a Proterozoic supercontinent is evaluated by analyzing the fit of Precambrian provinces defined by isotopic and geochronologic mapping.
Paleomagnetic constraints on timing of the Neoproterozoic breakup of Rodinia and the Cambrian formation of Gondwana
Paleomagnetic data from East Gondwana (Australia, Antarctica, and India) and Laurentia are interpreted to demonstrate that the two continents were juxtaposed in the Rodinia supercontinent by 1050 Ma.
Pacific margins of Laurentia and East Antarctica-Australia as a conjugate rift pair: Evidence and implications for an Eocambrian supercontinent
Evidence supports the hypothesis that the Laurentian and East Antarctic-Australian cratons were continuous in the late Precambrian and that their Pacific margins formed as a conjugate rift pair. Both

In central Idaho roof pendants, a northwest-trending belt of metamorphosed strata, correlative with the Windermere Supergroup, links northern and southern segments of the western Laurentia
Isotopic structure and tectonics of the central Transantarctic mountains
Regional patterns of Nd, Sr, and O isotopic ratios of ∼500 Ma granitic rocks are used to identify the ages and areal extents of three crustal provinces in the central Transantarctic Mountains. One of

Siliciclastic rocks in the Transantarctic Mountains record the tectonic transformation from a Neoproterozoic rift-margin setting to a passive-margin and ultimately to an active early Paleozoic
