Abstract We present a new cascade-type microscopic simulation of Nucleus-Nucleus Collisions at RHIC energies. The basic elements are partons (quarks and gluons) moving in 8N-dimensional phase space according to Poincare-covariant dynamics. The parton-parton scattering cross sections used in the model are computed within perturbative QCD in the tree-level approximation. The Q2 dependence of the structure functions is included by an implementation of the DGLAP mechanism suitable for a cascade, so…

Charge particle universal rapidity scaling in and Au + Au collisions at relativistic energies and its partonic origin
The BRAHMS and PHOBOS collaborations recently revisited the limiting fragmentation shown in the charged particle pseudorapidity density distribution in Au + Au collisions at RHIC energies. The PHOBOS

Space-time description of ultra-relativistic nuclear collisions in the QCD parton picture
Abstract Recent developments in the dynamical description of the early stage of heavy ion collisions at collider energies on the basis of the improved parton model and kinetic theory are presented.
Dynamics of parton cascades in highly relativistic nuclear collisions
Abstract We present a QCD based relativistic kinetic model for high energy nuclear colisions, which is inspired by the parton picture of hadronic interactions. The nuclear dynamics is traced back to
Transverse energy evolution as a test of parton cascade models
Abstract We propose a test of Monte Carlo Parton Cascade models based on analytic solutions of covariant kinetic theory for longitudinally boost and transverse translation invariant boundary
Poincaré covariant particle dynamics. I. Intranuclear cascade model.
To analyze the high energy heavy ion reactions performed at Lawrence Berkeley BEVALAC, Brookhaven AGS, and CERN SPS, a dynamical model that is entirely Poincar\'e covariant is presented that makes possible a relativistic extension of the cascade concept without losing its inherent simplicity.
Dynamical parton distributions of the proton and small-x physics
AbstractThe perturbative properties of parton distributions generated radiatively from a valence-like input at some low resolution scale are discussed with the aim of explaining the physical aspects
Hard Processes in Quantum Chromodynamics
Abstract The use of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) in treating the hadronic world has become an overwhelming trend in particle physics. Owing to the asymptotic freedom of QCD, one can use perturbative
Causality and relativistic effects in intranuclear cascade calculations
Two main goals are pursued in this work. The first one is concerned with the relativistic effects in high energy nuclear collisions, when noninvariance of simultaneity is taken into account. It is
Asymptotic Freedom in Parton Language
A novel derivation of the Q2 dependence of quark and gluon densities (of given helicity) as predicted by quantum chromodynamics is presented. The main body of predictions of the theory for
Initial state radiation effects onW and jet production
A model for initial state parton showers, previously presented briefly, is here discussed in more detail. Experimentally, the transverse momentum spectrum ofW andZ, and the associated jet activity,
A model for initial state parton showers
We present a detailed model for exclusive properties of initial state parton showers. A numerically efficient algorithm is obtained by tracing the parton showers backwards, i.e. start with the hard
