Abstract In this report, we describe a simple, safe, and efficacious technique for orchiectomy and scrotal ablation with the use of a carbon dioxide light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation (laser) in sugar gliders (Petaurus breviceps). The study population included nine sugar gliders, ages 2–24 mo, presented for orchiectomy. After induction of general anesthesia, orchiectomy and scrotal ablation were performed by severing the scrotal stalk with the laser. All sugar gliders were…
Scrotal stalk ablation and orchiectomy using electrosurgery in the male sugar glider (Petaurus breviceps) and histologic anatomy of the testes and associated scrotal structures
TLDR
Electrosurgery scrotal ablation and orchiectomy therefore offers an alternate route for the practicing veterinarian to perform safe and efficient castrations in male sugar gliders.
THE USE OF THE LIGASURE™ DEVICE FOR SCROTAL ABLATION IN MARSUPIALS
TLDR
The LigaSure provides a rapid, technologically simple and safe surgical technique for scrotal ablation and orchiectomy in the marsupial patient that minimizes surgical, anesthetic, and recovery times.
A Study Audit Efficacy of Different Anesthetic Coktails During Scrotal SAC Ablation Surgery in Rams and Bucks : Review
The Failure to attain complete involution of the testicular parenchyma was experimented majority of lambs, irrespective of the age at which they had been castrated. In winding up, burdizzo castration
DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF ANAPLASTIC MAMMARY CARCINOMA IN A SUGAR GLIDER (PETAURUS BREVICEPS)
TLDR
This report is the first to describe the clinical presentation, diagnostics, therapeutics, and treatment response for a sugar glider with mammary neoplasia.
Reproductive Disorders of Marsupials.
TLDR
Marsupial reproduction differs significantly in anatomy and physiology from that of placental mammals, and common disease conditions include joey eviction, pouch infections, mastitis, metritis, prostatitis, penile necrosis, and neoplasia.

TLDR
Surgical procedures in small mammals include integumentary mass and abscess excision, reproductive procedures, gastrointestinal foreign body removal, urolith removal, prolapsed tissues associated with the gastrointestinal tract, intra-abdominal mass excison, and hepatic surgery.
Abnormal Repetitive Behaviors and Self-Mutilations in Small Mammals.
TLDR
Owing to the small blood volume of many small exotic mammals and the associated risk of hypovolemia in case of hemorrhage, an hospitalization with potent multimodal analgesia and physical barriers to prevent self-mutilation is often warranted.

Evaluation of short-term limb function following unilateral carbon dioxide laser or scalpel onychectomy in cats.
TLDR
Cats had improved limb function immediately after unilateral laser onychectomy, compared with onyChectomy with a scalpel, tourniquet, and bandage, which may result from decreased pain during the 48 hours following unilateral lasers.

The skin of the perianal region is very thin and sensitive. The carbon dioxide laser is a very effective tool for removing tumors and treating conditions of this area. It offers a "no touch" method
Effect of intratesticular injection of lidocaine on cardiovascular responses to castration in isoflurane-anesthetized stallions.
TLDR
Evaluated the effect of intratesticular administration of lidocaine on cardiovascular responses and cremaster muscle tension during castration of isoflurane-anesthetized stallions with no testicular abnormalities that were scheduled for castration.
Effect of intratesticular injection of lidocaine on cardiovascular responses to castration in isoflurane-anesthetized stallions.
TLDR
In isoflurane-anesthetized stallions, intratesticular injection of lidocaine prior to castration appeared to decrease intraoperative blood pressure responses and cremaster muscle tension and may be a beneficial supplement to isofLurane anesthesia.
