In this letter, we introduce an innovative method for generating mappings of M-ary phase-shift keying (M-PSK) and M-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (M-QAM) constellations for bit-interleaved coded modulation with iterative decoding (BICM-ID). The proposed simple method not only yields mappings for higher order constellations efficiently but also outperforms previously reported mappings.
