Summary A virus (H747) which consistently produces fatal encephalitis in suckling mice following intracerebral inoculation was recovered in Japan from tissues of naturally infected mice. The new virus was shown by means of neutralization and complement fixation procedures to be antigenically related to JHM, EHF120 and MHV viruses. The agents comprising this antigenically related family of viruses is designated the hepatoencephalitis group of murine viruses.
OBSERVATIONS ON THE GROWTH OF MOUSE HEPATITIS VIRUS (MHV-3) IN MOUSE MACROPHAGES.
TLDR
The results of growth curves in the presence of metabolic inhibitors of DNA synthesis, FUDR, and actinomycin D, suggest that MHV-3 is an RNA virus with no DNA-dependent replicative phase and may belong to the myxovirus group. Expand
THE APPEARANCE OF A HEPATOTROPHIC VIRUS IN MICE THYMECTOMIZED AT BIRTH
TLDR
The part played by the hepatotrophic virus in the premature death of thymectomized mice is discussed but, although neonatal thymectomy apparently alters a normally stable host-virus relationship, it is not thought that the virus is primarily responsible for the death of its host. Expand

Passage of Necrotic Liver from Thymectomized Wasting Dor
Mice thymectomized within strict time-limits at birth develop a wasting syndrome and die prematurely before they are 2 to 3 months old (1, 2). Because their immune response to skin homografts (3, 4)Expand
Viral Diseases of the Digestive System
Publisher Summary This chapter discusses three virus infections affecting the digestive system of mice and their properties: (1) epizootic diarrhea of infant mice (EDIM), (2) reovirus 3Expand
A biography of coronaviruses from IBV to SARS-CoV-2, with their evolutionary paradigms and pharmacological challenges
TLDR
The scientific messages that could have mit-igated the COVID-19 pandemic, the evolutionary mechanisms in SARS-CoV-2 and related CoVs that bely drug and vaccine development, and above all, the possible epidemics in the future are highlighted. Expand
Coronaviruses: a comparative review.
The coronaviruses have been recently classified as a separate virus genus on the basis of several fundamental characteristics, which include their nucleic acid type, the presence of a lipid envelope,Expand
AN ELECTRON MICROSCOPE STUDY OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF A MOUSE HEPATITIS VIRUS IN TISSUE CULTURE CELLS
Samples taken at different intervals of time from suspension cultures of the NCTC 1469 line of mouse liver—derived (ML) cells infected with a mouse hepatitis virus have been studied with the electronExpand
Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for detection of antibodies to murine hepatitis virus
TLDR
A high prevalence of antibody to murine hepatitis virus was found by the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in colonies with a low prevalence of complement-fixing antibodies. Expand
