A new three-parameter cumulative distribution function defined on $(\alpha,\infty)$, for some $\alpha\geq0$, with asymmetric probability density function and showing exponential decays at its both tails, is introduced. The new distribution is near to familiar distributions like the gamma and log-normal distributions, but this new one shows own elements and thus does not generalize neither of these distributions. Hence, the new distribution constitutes a new alternative to fit values showing…

Theory & Methods: Generalized exponential distributions

The three‐parameter gamma and three‐parameter Weibull distributions are commonly used for analysing any lifetime data or skewed data. Both distributions have several desirable properties, and nice

The gamma-Lomax distribution

An extended Lomax distribution

A new five-parameter continuous distribution, the so-called McDonald Lomax distribution, that extends the Lomax distribution and some other distributions is proposed and studied. The model has as

A new method for adding a parameter to a family of distributions with application to the exponential and Weibull families

SUMMARY A new way of introducing a parameter to expand a family of distributions is introduced and applied to yield a new two-parameter extension of the exponential distribution which may serve as a

Survival and lifetime data analysis with a flexible class of distributions

A general class of continuous univariate distributions with positive support obtained by transforming the class of two-piece distributions is introduced, which is very flexible, easy to implement, and contains members that can capture different tail behaviours and shapes, producing also a variety of hazard functions.

A new model called the Weibull-Lomax distribution is introduced which extends the LomAX distribution and has increasing and decreasing shapes for the hazard rate function and outperforms the McDonald- lomax, Kumaraswamy-Lamax, gamma-Lmax, beta-LMax, exponentiated Lmax and Lomax models.

The Beta Exponential Fréchet Distribution with Applications

We define and study a new generalization of the Frechet distribution called the beta exponential Frechet distribution. The new model includes thirty two special models. Some of its mathematical

A generalized log-normal distribution and its goodness of fit to censored data

A generalized version of log-normal distribution is proposed and its goodness-of-fit for a randomly censored data set representing the remission times of bladder cancer patients has been demonstrated and compared with other lifetime models considered in the literature.
