A new species of freshwater crab of the pseudothelphusid genus Neostrengeria Pretzmann, 1965, A^. perijaensis, is described and illustrated. This discovery means the genus now contains a total of 17 species and 2 subspecies, all endemic to the Eastern Andes of Colombia. The general char acteristics of the genus are given, and a key for the identification of the species based primarily on the morphology of the male first gonopod, is presented.

TWO NEW SPECIES OF FRESHWATER CRAB OF THE GENUS NEOSTRENGERIA PRETZMANN, 1965, FROM COLOMBIA (CRUSTACEA: DECAPODA: PSEUDOTHELPHUSIDAE), WITH AN UPDATED KEY OF THE SPECIES OF THE GENUS

We describe two new species of Neostrengeria Pretzmann, 1965, N. bataensis, from Santa Maria, Boyaca Department, and N. celioi, from Aguazul, Casanare Department, on the eastern slope of the Eastern

Results of the global conservation assessment of the freshwater crabs (Brachyura, Pseudothelphusidae and Trichodactylidae): The Neotropical region, with an update on diversity

These results represent a baseline that can be used to design strategies to save threatened Neotropical species of freshwater crabs and underlines the need to prioritize and develop conservation measures before species decline to levels from which they cannot recover.

Recent advances in the biology of the Neotropical freshwater crab family Pseudothelphusidae (Crustacea, Decapoda, Brachyura)

A Terminology for the Gonopods of the American River Crabs

The male pleopods of the river crabs (Potamonidae) are indispensable to the taxonomy of the group, and detailed descriptions are usually lacking, but some terms are proposed for the most constantly occurring features of river crab gonopods.
